London Baby!

How has it been so long since I last posted?

At the weekend I finally went to London after it being about six months since I last went! The main purpose for going was to do a tour of Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, that I'd bought for my boyfriend as a Christmas present. Now, as I may have mentioned before (I can't remember!?) I'm not really into football, and I'd said he could take anyone with him, but he wanted me to go. So of course I did, it meant a day out in London and a day together. I've got to say, I was impressed with what you got for your money, it was much better then the tour we did of Barcelona's Nou Camp Stadium. You actually got a tour guide to show you around, and he was really good.

The tour started in the director's box, which is where all the owners and people sit during matches. Very comfy seats indeed! From there you went to the players entrance, which is just where the home and away players enter the building from the underground car park. But there's a time capsule there that was put in when the new Stadium was opened. Then you got to go into the home players changing rooms where they played a video from the manager, and there was players shirts hanging up with the names showing so the fans could have their photos taken with them. Then we go to walk out through the tunnel and on to the side of the pitch and sit where the manager and players sit during matches. Lastly the guide took us to the press conference/media room where players sometimes do interviews, and then it ended at the Arsenal shop! The tour lasted an hour, and it also included entry into the Arsenal Museum for you to look at in your own time. There was only so much football I can take, but it's a must for Arsenal fans I'd say!

It was possibly the hottest day of the year, so the Underground got a bit unbearable at times, but it's what you expect. After the Emirates we headed to Oxford Street to do some light shopping and stop off at Ben's Cookies. It's a tiny little cookie shop, but they had one where my boyfriend went to uni so we couldn't resist. I had a double choc and all the chocolate in the middle in melted and they're just so yummy. If you ever fins yourself on Oxford Street in the mood for a cookie, it's next to the biggest Boots store.

By the time we'd finished shopping it was dinner time, and we decided Leicester Square was a good place to start. We we headed there and eventually decided on Chiquito, which was extremely yummy! Our starter got given to the table next to us at first, and our mains almost got given to the table on the other side, but the food was good when we did get it! Can't resist a good Mexican, it's one of my favourite foods, especially nachos, fajitas and enchiladas.

After dinner it was time to head home as it had been a long day. And now can't wait to go to London again!
